The husband loves any salad. He especially love the salad at dinner time. Since the weather starts to get warmer everyday, my husband loves to use the grill. He loves to grill hot dogs, hamburger, steak, chicken or any meat he can think. He loves to grill, and it is very delicious too.
He asks me if I can make him a macaroni salad. I told him sure. I need to buy the macaroni to complete my ingredients. It is very easy to make macaroni salad. I found this recipe online. I double the mayonnaise, tuna and salt and pepper but follow the rest of the ingredients.
1 (12 ounce) package elbow macaroni
1 (6 ounce) can tuna, drained
2 stalks celery, chopped
2 tablespoons chopped sweet onion
1 (10 ounce) can baby peas, drained
1 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
salt and pepper to taste
3 hard-cooked eggs, quartered
1 pinch paprika, for garnish
Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add the macaroni, and cook until tender, about 8 minutes. Drain and rinse under cold running water.
In a large bowl, stir together the macaroni, tuna, celery, onion and peas. Mix in the mayonnaise, relish, salt and pepper. Garnish with egg wedges and a sprinkle of paprika. Cover and chill for at least 1 hour before serving.
I am proud that it turned out delicious. Here are my kids and a neighbor who enjoyed eating my tuna macaroni salad. The three of them are hungry after they swim in the pool. They also have the strawberries.
