My first try of baking a pumpkin pie

I am not good in baking or cooking. I am not afraid to try or experience things. Yesterday was obviously Thanksgiving Day in America, right? I tried to bake a pumpkin pie for the first time for a change. I search a recipe that is easy for me to follow. I found one and this is what I followed from this Website I bought all the ingredients. There are two ingredients in the recipe that is very expensive. I do not understand it. These are the spices which are in a little container. I still bought it despite being expensive.

Whipped cream (optional)

MIX sugar, cinnamon, salt, ginger and cloves in small bowl. Beat eggs in large bowl. Stir in pumpkin and sugar-spice mixture. Gradually stir in evaporated milk.

POUR into pie shell.

BAKE in preheated 425° F oven for 15 minutes. Reduce temperature to 350° F; bake for 40 to 50 minutes or until knife inserted near center comes out clean. Cool on wire rack for 2 hours. Serve immediately or refrigerate. Top with whipped cream before serving.

As expected, my pumpkin pie is soft. The taste is not bad. How I wish that it is harder. My family still ate the pumpkin pie as dessert. I will try to bake apple pie next time. I know that my little girl loves apple. I hope it will turn out better than my pumpkin pie. I told you I am not a quitter.

Yay! Good job, Momi Jess! That looks so yummy! Isn’t pumpkin pie a part of the Thanksgiving celebration? I never pumpkin pies because I like to eat it if I’m not the one who made it. I am lucky I still can have some here because at church, people brings them for potluck.

I am still starting to enjoy being a domestic wife now, so I’m interested to learn in baking brownies. For now, my interest is more on building my list of recipes in cooking filipino foods.

I wish I could bake but if I could, I’d go with dessert pies and meat pies. Shepherd’s pie maybe?
